Fescue and Bermuda grass lawns are prevalent across the Texas Panhandle, but are these varieties the best suited grasses for our region?

To maintain its lush deep green appearance, fescue requires more than 1.5 inches of water each week during the summer. Though Bermudagrass is more drought resistant, it does not have the same lush verdancy of fescue. Panhandle researchers are testing a variety that is seemingly well-suited for our region and marries the most marketable aspects of both of these popular grasses.
