HONORED— Several faculty and staff of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service were honored with the agency’s Superior Service Award during a Jan. 22 virtual ceremony. They include Cathy Banda, Hale County Extension office manager at Plainview, Dr. Jourdan Bell, an agronomist, at Amarillo, and Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, an agricultural law specialist at Amarillo. HPWD sends its congratulations to all for this special honor!

NEW REGION K WATER PLANNING GROUP CHAIR — After 18 years, John Burke has retired as the Region K Water Planning Group Chair. He is succeeded by David Van Dresar, General Manager of the Fayette County Groundwater Conservation District.

TESTING FOR LEAD AND COPPER EXPOSURE — During the next three years, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) will oversee a program to test drinking water systems in schools and child care facilities for the presence of lead and copper. LEARN MORE by reading this Texas Tribune article.

TWDB STATEWIDE ASR-AR WEBINAR — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) invites you to a webinar about the Statewide Survey of Aquifer Suitability for Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) or Aquifer Recharge (AR) Projects. The webinar will be presented by Andrea Croskrey, Kristi Shaw, and Thomas Brown on February 17 at 12 p.m. CST. Registration is required in advance.
